CAMO.

Heeeeeey

Sorry for the super short post the other day. It's that really horrible time of year again when my new student house is without internet. Soo having to squeeze in posts in any wifi area I can find sowee.

Reallly good to be back in Cardiff though in my uni flat, little working gal again now, although feeling a tad tired tonight as I've discovered our neighbour is a raging drummer, which is fine, but at half 8 in the morning it's just an absolute nightmare! Waa.

Okayyyyy so everyone's probably latching onto the camo craze at the moment, my favourite look so far was Fearne Cotton when she presented at Hackney Weekend, she looked super snug and the camo jacket was really oversized which suited her little frame.

Anyway, don't even bother going onto Urban Outfitters, they're so ridiculously overpriced, about £48, which I certainly cannnnnnnnot afford at this moment in time, and they're just the same as these you get on ebay, so head there! Got mine for about £4 with another £4 for postage, but it's a genuine german army jacket, so well worth having a look around before you buy some cheap remake! Did smell reaalllly musty when it arrived but it's out of the wash and looking larvely now. Think I got it in a Medium too do it's a bit bigger, didn't want it to just look like a shirt.

Oh and these lil shorts, I did a little dip dye to them the other day, bleached the hell out of them and did like pastels all over, but going to re dye them as I forgot to bathe them in salt water for the colour fastness! They've come out pretty well considering it was a quick art and craft mo. You can't really go wrong with tie dye and dip dying though, it always seems to work whatever way you do it!

Gonna get some sleeeeep now!

Praying for a good drum-free sleep please.

Night!

Hope everyone's good anyway, I'll be doing a few sponsored posts in the next few weeks for certain things! Really exciting to work with some emerging designers and stuff so will keep you posted on that!

Really need to start checking my emails more often though! Missed out on tickets to a number of things I wanted to go too, including wakestock tickets boo hoo!!!!

DIY: MOUSTACHE FRINGED TEE.

I just can't stop myself now. Another DIY, post - studding all my shorts with 200 studs!

This one is to make a fringed mustache tee, whichhhh are so easy to make if you've got a bit of patience with bondaweb.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

1 x plain tee
Piece if Black Fabric
Piece of Bondaweb
Scissors
Pen
Iron
Fabric Glue

1. Okay so gather all the materials you need together. I haven't included the fringing of the tee in this post but if you take a scissors to a tshirt and cut up to a desired line, then continue this all the way along the tee, you'll end up with jersey ribbons. Anyway, so after you've gathered all your materials, you need to whip the iron out and turn it on.

2. Once the iron is heated up, be careful, and place the bondaweb, shiny side down onto the back of the black fabric. You then need to hold the iron over the area for a few seconds, making sure there are no creases and bubbles, until the bondaweb is stuck to the black fabric. This is done to make the fabric much stiffer to cut, and the overall finish on the tee will look way nicer!

3. So you're bondaweb is now stuck, good. You now need to grab that pen you've got, and if you can do it freehand draw a moustache shape onto the back of the bondaweb. If you're too frightened about mucking it up, grab a piece of paper and draw a template and cut it out, then draw around this on the fabric. Now cut the moustache out, and you've got your design!

4. Now all that's left to do is glue the moustache onto the tee! Grab the fabric glue, making sure you have a hard surface in between the back and front of the tee, so no glue goes through, and glue the back of the moustache design. Stick this in the middle of the tee, and wait to dry! The cheapest DIY tee ever.

Have fun babies.

DIP.

Hey lil ones!
Anyone who is experiencing sun at the moment in the UK, I'm beyond jealous. I've returned from Ibiza with a tan, which has almost immediately faded into the rainclouds. I just look a funny yellow now. Or probably more of rust colour. Yummy. So the constant sunbedding before my departure has gone to waste! Bring me sun UK. 13 degrees in July is not fun!

I look like I'm completely lying now when you see these pictures, all taken on the one sunny, well cloudy day this week I swear. It's a mad dash to take blog photos, even cutting my little supermarket trip short to rush back!

Rucksack - Topshop
Necklace - Topshop

Rightoooooo. So straight back and straight into arts and crafts again to keep me entertained in this rain! I've got a new little venture to introduce in a few days actually, you'll see on my twitter what I'm on about! But yeah, promise I'll do a post on tie dye in the next few days as well, cause although it's dead easy, it's more the colours that you have to faff around with a bit to get right, but mine have come out as pastel-y as I wanted them!

Also, don't think my disco pants have actually made an appearance on the blog which is odd, but here they are in all their shiny glory! Still feel my legs look like sausages when I'm trotting about, but they literally go with everything and I can't seem to stop wearing them at the moment. The jumper as well, think this was a impulse buy when I was cold in town or something! but it goes with my pastel theme at the moment, looks nice with a shirt underneath as well!

Right, I'm off to carry on my tie dying, bleaching and general multitaking while watching million pound drop on the tele.

Night!

HUNDREDS & THOUSANDS.

Hello chickens!
Don't want to keep carrying on about my 'big move' and all that, but, probs the most stressful two days for a lannng time. Good news, I now have my bazillion items of clothing in ine place, meaning, I can snap away until my heart is content wooo! Obviously the ebay selling is still going strong, so hopefully a lot of new clothes will vbe coming my way when I get back from Ibiz! I can't wait to actually spend my money on decent clothes again, I miss it so muchhhhhhh!

Top - H&M
Crop (worn underneath) - New Look Kids
Skirt - Primark
Body Chain - Topshop
Watch - UO
Boots - Topshop
Rucksack - via ebay

Haven't worn this for absolutely ages, but a good little staple in my wardrobe; my leather look pleated skirt. That sounds vile written down, but primark actually produced something worth keeping for a good few seasons!

Feels weird to think actually that when I'm back in the UK it'll be a matter of weeks until LFW kicks off again, sooo excited! Anyway, so I wore this to my Dadda's little birthday meal the other day. Yes, I'm wearing boots in July as well, unbelievable. I feel guilty uprooting and leaving my parents in the rain, but hopefully I'll bring a bit of sunshine back when I return!!!

DIY: SUMMER SUNFLOWER SHORTS.

HEY.
Okay as promised. My sunflower shorts are hereeeeee.
Those of you who follow me on twitter would've already had a sneaky peak. And unfortunately, due to their obvious, extreme, delicate nature ( :(  ) they had to be left behind for my Ibiza adventure. Cry! But on the plus side they'll be nice and new for my return!

Okay. We'll have a little numbers thing going on here, so if you do want to follow how to make them, which I think is pretty obvious, it breaks it down a bit and lets you get organised!

WHAT YOU NEED:

1 x Pair of jeans
Variety of Flowers
Coated Wire
Needle & Thread
Scissors

1. Okay, so you want to do what I said in the previous post and head to a charity shop. You'll find the best fit jeans in here for your vintage shorts, and they fit so much better as well. You also want to take a trip to a craft shop, unless you have old plastic or paper flowers lying round in the house. I got these from hobbycraft, they were £2.99 for a bunch, so I spent about £12 in total.

 2. SO once you've got those sorted, try them on, and cut them to a desired length. It's up to you whether you roll the hems up or decide to fray them slightly, but it probably adds a bit more support for the flowers if you do roll them!

3. The third thing you need to do is cut the majority of the wire off from the back of the flowers. If you're using plastic flowers, you'll need to wrap a small piece of wire around the back until it holds the flower in place, just so the flower is slightly more stiff to sew onto the shorts. The next thing to do is to position the flowers where you want them on the shorts, so you know how many to leave space for when stitching.

4. Carry on stitching the flowers onto the shorts until you're happy with the coverage on the front. You could also vary it so the flowers come out of the fronts of the pockets or on the back pockets. Here are mine finished! Make sure not to stitch flowers right into the inner corners, as you will not be able to walk when they're on!

5. Okay, so if you have any flowers left over, then you can make even moreeeeeee! Grab a piece of garden wire, or a headband of your choice, and making sure you've connected the flowers to another piece of wire on the back, delicately wrap them around the headband. This creates a gorgeous headpiece which probably cost me about £2.99 to make! SUMMER!

And you're done woo!

Have fun lil ones, I've enjoyed these little arts and crafts.

MARY MARY MARY.

Hey lovelies!
Had to post this which was in the supplement of vogue in May! It was something I was determined to try and recreate myself, buttttttt I opted for a more floral version instead which I will post in the next few days!

Mary Katrantzou has always caught my eye regarding creativity in her pieces, but this little vogue workshop showed the designers brains going back to their graduate show status; all about originality. I pulled Mary's creation out of the supplement to show you anyway.

Sooooooo! This got me wanting to get all arts and crafty again. Probably because I'm trying so hard to save money on buying new clothes to go away, so I thought I'd try and jazz up some of the old stuff I've got. These were my inspiration. But MY final piece looks entirely different to these beauties. You'll see them in a few days, suspense. I would advise anyone though, instead of heading to Toppers, or ebay, or wherever you go to pay rocket prices for 'vintage' denim shorts, usually levis which have been studded and whacked up to £45.

Well go to a charity shop. Look for jeans. You'll probably come away with quadruple the amount you wanted, but it's worth it, you can get about 5 pairs for £12 or something ridiculous. I much prefer buying them properly vintage anyway, my waist is quite small so if I buy shorts from Toppers or the rest of the high street, they're too baggy, whereas the vintage ones are nipped in at the waist more.

Then you're free to purchase as many frilly bits or studs or whatever to decorate them. I've had so much fun with my 10 pairs of jeans. It's ended up with me taking 13 pairs of shorts on holiday. FUN.

So come back and see my little DIY shorts, they're extremely summery and cost less than a pair in Internacionale!

Lots o Love
